If you ever wonder about the titles for the posts, know that there is a minimum number of characters required for a title. Weird, right?
Now back to our irregularly scheduled program.
I took first watch tonight. It was an early watch starting at 5:30pm Nov 22. Graham was tired from his diving the prop and removing kelp from it and our rudder. Oh, yeah, while bobbing in place more kelp got caught so he had to do it twice. Any-who…sun sets early and I was treated to an amazing view of Venus and Jupiter lit up brightly by the last evening lights. They were aligned vertically; Venus glowing with Jupiter stacked on top. The first few hours were moonless and cloudless, so a perfect sky of stars.
Winds were light, but we needed to slow down so we wouldn’t arrive in San Quintin at 3am. You know, now. So we sailed downwind with our mainsail out and made 3-4 kts. It was peaceful.
We are buddy boating with a Leopard 46 catamaran named Yatra. A truly lovely family. It is nice to have another boat to chat with, plan with, and know someone else is out there and awake with.
