This trip we went about 80 nautical miles offshore chasing the fastest wind angle to give us speed to stay ahead of the storm.
We’ve averaged 7-7.5 knots. We were spilling wind from the sails so we didn’t go any faster. As it is, we are likely to arrive at Bahía Magdalena before first light. We try not to arrive new places in the dark.
At this point we can slow down, heave to outside the bay for a few hours, or risk it a bit and go in early.
We are excited to see familiar faces and make more new friends. Don’t know how long we will stay there. No plans beyond arriving safely and having a breather.
