Here in Bahía Magdalena we have finally been able to slow down.
We were racing to get to La Paz, but weather got in the way. Then Graham resigned and work needs became a receding worry. The last two days we’ve hung out with friends. Today, the friends left for Cabo San Lucas taking advantage of the lovely winds off the coast. We thought of following because buddy boating is fun and friends are awesome. But we found that we need a rest.
We need to stop and play at the beach, swim in the water, work on a few projects, do some ordinary chores. Graham happily fiddled with our generator; no luck fixing it yet. I washed some laundry, Tom made pretzels, and Kirsten is painting her skateboard.
Later we’ll have a Spanish lesson, do some cleaning, cooking, organizing, and call it a day. It’s so nice and peaceful. Experiencing exactly where we are as we need to without all the distractions of Facebook, internet, or societal demands. Just us. We’ll move on in a few days and hopefully catch back up to friends.
