First night watches

Sun Apr 05 2020 16:49:00 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time)

We are bound for Ensenada de los Muertos from Isla Isabela. It is a bay on the East side of Baja south of La Paz but North of Cabo San Lucas and NorthWest of Isabela across the Sea of Cortez. We are trying to sail as much as we can so with North Westerly winds, we can sail North. We have made good progress today with winds between 17-20 knots. Lighter winds are predicted for later and we’ll motor more West. Hopefully the predicted Northerlies show up and then we can sail more NW toward our destination.

We have been training our crew today (Maryanna and Rachel) to ready them for their first night watches. More training while on night watch.

Edit: 6am – weather forecast has changed quite a bit. We might be in for a good blow for Monday. Night watches went well and a couple of dolphin pods came by to play at the bow. Always one of my favorite parts of watch.
