So, we made more progress today! 🙌 I did some hand sanding and Graham with a little neighborly help got the shaft and assorted parts out. 🤜🤛 however, the adage “One step forward, two steps back” holds terribly true for boat projects. With the shaft out we have discovered corroded bronze in the stern tube. 😟 so that now has to come out and be replaced.
