Back in the water

Wed Nov 17 2021 18:22:00 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time)

Yesterday we launched the boat, all went well. We were pretty stressed about it after a year of work on the boat out of the water. We’re currently sitting in Puerto Don Juan, awaiting our friends on S/V Pablo. The trip here was all motoring, no wind, until the end when there was WAY too much wind in Canal de Ballenas. During the night Bahia de Los Angeles saw an unforecasted 30 kts (forecast said max 15…oops), and that turned into compression winds in the canal (the gap between Isla de La Guarda and Baja) where we were. The compression winds were sustained around 35-40 knots apparent with some ugly wave action, but Karri saw gusts up to 50 knots apparent on her watch! Pulsar was fine, and we were glad to arrive and anchor this morning.
