Weird, right? Now back to our irregularly scheduled program. I took first watch tonight. It was an early watch starting at 5:30pm Nov 22. …
Diving on the prop and moving on
Fri Nov 22 2019 15:28:00 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) We were entering Puerto Santo Tomas and got caught in kelp, wrapping the prop and getting stuck in the rudder. I dove on it to cut it off, and things are now cleared. We’re skipping Puerto Santo Tomas because after getting close enough to see what …
Sailing at night is magical
Tue Oct 15 2019 22:04:00 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time) Sailing at night is magical. It’s silence broken by the waves and the sails. We’re headed to Redondo Beach with our friends on Katmandu to avoid some heavy swell and weather coming to Santa Barbara. Check out this cool picture they took of us under sail …

Hello, it’s me again Margaret
Sat Oct 12 2019 22:50:00 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time) Have you ever heard that song? It’s me again Margaret is a weird song I grew up with about a stalker. And thankfully the song is tongue in cheek and sung with a decidedly creepy voice. The same artist had one about a guy who streaks, …
Maybe a morning person
Mon Oct 07 2019 13:30:00 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time) I have never been a “morning person”. I am more of a “night owl”. Though, owls are typically nocturnal so “night owl” seems redundant. Nevertheless, I like late nights. This played out in college in the form of writing papers at 2 to 3 am. However, …
Anchored in San Simeon Bay
Sun Oct 06 2019 20:32:00 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time) We have arrived and are anchored for the night. It is very calm out. It’s not the best idea to arrive at a new anchorage after dark. The dark distorts distances and not everything is on the charts. In fact some areas are notorious for how …
