We are in Noyo Basin Marina, Ft. Bragg for a few days while we await the next window for our day hope to San Francisco. Our first time taking the boat up a river. Went very well for all there was a crane taking up half the entrance.

Coming off watch this morning the fog has lifted and sunlight is starting to peek through the clouds. I can feel tiny water droplets on my face and the air smells and feels so clean.

Bye Crescent City. It was lovely thinking about you. But fair winds call us South to round Cape Mendocino and arrive to Noyo Basin/Ft. Bragg tomorrow. Another leg closer to San Francisco.

Finally got enough wind to sail. We got the barber hauler setup as well as the preventer and pole and went wing on wing. Tom Davis spent some time at the helm learning how to steer through corkscrews with waves on our stern quarter. Adjusted angle a bit, much more pleasant now 🙂

Looks like we are out of here Newport. Another early morning, but it’s been fun!

We are in Newport, OR! The bar crossing was smooth, but foggy and damp. We are here for a few days waiting the weather out. A nice place to be.
